What we ask for before releasing a machine, why we ask, and how far we go when a payment looks unusual.

Dernière mise à jour: 2026-09-18

Cette page n'est pour l'instant disponible qu'en anglais. En cas de divergence, la version anglaise prévaut.

1. Why we ask

Mining hardware is a high-value, easily resold, dual-use category. We are required by the laws that apply to our business, and by our banks and payment channels, to know who we are selling to, and to be able to show that the funds we receive come from a lawful source.

What we ask for is scaled to the order value and to the risk profile of the destination. We do not apply a single uniform checklist to every buyer.

2. Documents we may request

  • Individual buyer: government-issued photo identification and proof of address.
  • Company buyer: certificate of incorporation, and evidence that the person dealing with us is authorised to act (director, authorised signatory, or a board resolution or power of attorney).
  • Orders at or above USD 50,000: additionally the beneficial owners, and the source of the funds used to pay.
  • Where a freight forwarder collects on your behalf: their identity and the commercial relationship between you.

3. Screening

  • We screen the buyer, the consignee, the payer (if different) and the freight forwarder against applicable sanctions lists and against politically exposed person (PEP) lists.
  • We also assess whether the goods, the destination and the end use are permitted. See the Restricted regions page.
  • Screening is repeated if the order, the parties or the destination change after the initial check.

4. What triggers enhanced review

  • An order value that is unusual for your business, or a sudden change in order size or pattern.
  • A payer, buyer or consignee that does not match the documented commercial relationship, including third-party payments.
  • A destination that is not sanctioned but sits close to a sanctioned region, or a route that is inconsistent with the stated end use.
  • Reluctance to provide documents that we have asked for, or documents that appear to have been altered.

5. How long review takes, and what happens if we stop

A routine check is normally completed within one to two business days and does not delay an order that is already scheduled. An enhanced review takes longer, and we will tell you what is outstanding.

If we cannot complete screening to our satisfaction, we will decline or cancel the order. Where funds have already been received, they are returned to the account or wallet they came from, after deduction of any bank or network charges actually incurred, and only once that is lawful to do so.

We do not disclose whether a party has been flagged by a screening provider. We will tell you that we are unable to proceed.

6. How we handle the documents

Documents are held for the period required by applicable record-keeping rules, and are accessible only to those who need them for the review. They are not used for marketing.

See the Privacy policy for how to request access, correction or deletion.
